Optional Post-Conference Tours
Following three tours are planned. All tours are scheduled on December 13 (Thu.) in the afternoon, right after the workshop. So you can join only one of them.
(1) visit to ATR and NTT CS Labs. (approx. $50)
ATR and NTT Communication Science Labs are two prominent research labs in the Keihanna area, which is located about 90 min. from downtown Kyoto. In this tour, you will visit speech-related research departments in the two laboratories.
(2) visit to Kyoto Univ. (free of charge)
Kyoto University is the second national university established in Japan, and located in downtown Kyoto. In this tour, you will visit multi-media and multi-modal research labs and attend another talk by Prof. Sharon Oviatt. [talk summary]
(3) sightseeing of temples in Kyoto (approx. $100 including lunch)
In this tour, you will first have a Kyoto-style lunch in a traditional restaurant, and then visit temples famous for the beautiful autumn scene, including Kiyomizu-dera and Tofuku-ji.
